So I feel like writing something down again, so I'm going to. For those of you not in the loop here's a quick update:
- I start a new job in 16 days. I'm quite excited because it should allow me to pay off the vacation to San Diego and the remaining debt from moving out of my parents fairly quickly. Still going to work at Golf Town, because I actually enjoy it, and I also haven't bought everything that I want to.
- Nickie is officially moved in with me. Seeing as she was spending 5 nights at my place as it is, I figured that I may as well be getting some money from her. I'm also supposed to put down something mushy about how much I like her and stuff, but I think the fact that she's living with me is evidence enough.
Now on to new topics. With Nickie moving in with me, I was looking over the rules for common-law status in case something did happen between us, and I found some very interesting information. This is one of those situations where people tell you information based on what they've heard from other people, and those other people are dead wrong. Most people I've talked to say that common-law is anywhere between 6 months and 2 years. The fact is, that the term 'common-law' is not actually used in Alberta anymore. The Adult Interdependent Relationship Act, passed in 2003, replaces all of the 'common-law' stuff that existed in Alberta. 'Common-law' is now called an Adult Interdependent Relationship, and you are only considered to be in one if you've been living with a person for 3 years, or share a child through birth or adoption. Interestingly enough, this relationship does not need to be sexual. If I was living with a buddy for a bunch of years, and we were financially dependent on each other, we could enter into one of these agreements. This is a bit different than the normal one because you actually have to fill out a form to get it legalized. But if I did this, then my buddy stopped living with me, I could legally seek support payments for a year after my buddy left. And if I died, my buddy would be entitled to a portion of my estate. It's a bit weird to think of 2 guys entering into an agreement like this, but I guess it could be used for homosexual people who are looking to share some legal responsibility.
Nine Inch Nails is back at the top of my favorite concerts. Sure there were no flames or rotating drum sets, but there were 3 different stage-sized TV screens, 2 that were see-through. The methods in which they used the screens along with several cameras placed around the stage had me spending more time looking at the lights than the people who were playing the music.
Soccer is turning out to be more of a headache than any other sport so far, but hopefully everything will be sorted out by next week and we'll be able to play a few games with a full team by the end of the season. Volleyball should go better next season, and I'm really looking forward to floor hockey in the winter and slo-pitch in the spring.
I've had a PS3 for well over a month now, and I've only spent maybe 3 hours on Metal Gear Solid 4. This is a shame, but something I plan on rectifying over the long weekend. Monday has been designated as Metal Gear Monday at my house, and that pretty much what I'm going to do all day after getting to sleep in and not worry about getting up at a certain time for the first time in a long while. It's funny how much you look forward to something like not waking up to an alarm clock when you do it 7 days a week. After writing that line, I remembered that Nickie will be working, and she will have an alarm set, so I will still be waking up to an alarm, but I can just ignore it and go to bed.
I'm really excited for golfing on Sunday. We're going to the Camrose public golf course for 2pm. I bought a 4 hybrid last week that I was hitting pretty good on the simulator, so hopefully that will translate to some added distance. I'm also going to try some Top Flite D2 Feel balls, as I'm intriqued by their Dimple-In-Dimple design. They also were the cheapest ball to appear on Golf Digest's 2008 Gold Hot list, which is impressive when balls that are almost 3 times the price didn't appear on it. Working at Golf Town is great, but looking at all the pretty things I want to buy every time I work is very hard. I'd like nothing more than to go spend $2000 and get myself decked out with all this shiny and pretty equipment. I'm quite positive for christmas and my birthday, I'm just going to ask for gift certificates so I can start buying some of the things that I would like.

Once a month
I think once a month blogging is ok, because I don't spend all that much time on my computer anyways.
For those of you not in the know, I bought a condo a couple weeks ago. It is a 768 sq ft, 1 bedroom, top floor apartment in a complex a couple blocks north of LB's in Aikensdale. It comes with a fridge, stove, dishwasher, couch, and drapes (I think). My possession date is February 29th, and the plan is to have a big moving party, even though I can't see it taking more than one trip if I can get 4-5 cars to go at once. I will just be using my cell phone as my phone, but since the only person that actually calls my house is Brenna, I don't think this will effect any of you. Board game nights will be moved to my new place effective probably 2 Tuesdays after I move, the first Tuesday will probably be canceled seeing as my house will still be in shambles.
I'm probably going to have to get a second job once I move out. Not because I can't afford to live on just my one job, but I still want to be able to save money every month for a rainy day fund. I guess my parents did something right in teaching me to save money when I can. I figure I'll try for a 1 weeknight, 1 weekend morning deal, but I have no idea where to go. I was thinking maybe Home Depot or somewhere else that sells house stuff so I could get a discount. I applied to be a dodgeball ref, but I think I make to much already for them to hire me.
In other news, Nickie and I are going to San Diego this summer! The plan is to go from July 5th - July 12th. Both of us are able to get our flights for free so the trip should be pretty affordable for the both of us. The plan is to visit the San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and Sea World, with the other days split up between other things on this Go San Diego card we plan on getting. I'm pretty excited for the trip because it'll be my first time on a plane, as well as my first trip to somewhere that's more than a days drive away. The plan is also to eat at every fast food restaurant that we don't have here in alberta, so it'll be a neat trip.
And now a gushy message for my lady friend:
I like you. A whole bunch. I admire that you can find a way to balance school, work and me. It means alot to me that you can find the time for me. I hope you know that if you're every overwhelemed by schoolwork or something else, that you can come to me and say you need my help, or that you just need me to stay out of your hair for a bit. You know I'm there for you, even if you just need some cuddles for an hour or so to take your mind off things. You're my favorite and I hope you'll stick around for awhile.

Christmas Calendar
Here's pretty much what I'm doing every day throughout the holidays:
Dec 19: Wrapping presents with Nickie
Dec 20: Taking Nickie to the penquins, PS I'm a retard.
Dec 21: Watching the Oilers lose a hockey game
Dec 22: Keg, then wherever Nickie decides to go for her birthday. Grandparents arrive from Vancouver
Dec 23: D&D (Dan's campaign. I haven't played my hexblade in forever!)
Dec 24: Drive to the office to feed Eugene. Go to the farm for Christmas Festivities.
Dec 25: Nothing much, just kinda chilling. Is something supposed to happen that day?
Dec 26: Boxing Day! Whose coming shopping with me? Also, probably going to see I Am Legend with the movie group.
Dec 27: D&D (My campaign, I'm excited to try out ship battles). Uncle Dave leaves.
Dec 28: Finally beating Gauntlet 2. If any of you bail out, I will be severely disappointed in you.
Dec 29: Rock Star Party at Lance/Mike/Tara/Erin's House. Grandparents leave.
Dec 30: NOTHING!?!?!?!?!?!!
Dec 31: New Year's Eve Board Game party. And giving Nickie a big sloppy kiss.
Jan 1: Nothing, but I suspect most people will be 'under the weather'.
Jan 2: Back to work!

Quick Update - For those of you concerned
Home Life - Same as always, except I need to do things for my parents to have parties at my place now. My desire to leave does grow, but not specifically because of things that my family does, more just growing older and wanting to go to the next step.
Professional Life - Got a raise in October, so my dreams of owning property someday are a little bit closer
Social Life - Busy as always. Games night is starting up again this week which is awesome. I got a new pirate game to play this week. Potluck planning is going smoothly and I got my parents computer almost done so that's taken care of.
Love Life - Very Very Very Very Very Very Happy. I've been dating somebody for a month and a half now and she's really growing on me.
Gaming Life - Guitar Hero 3 was probably a waste of money, I've only beat the game on Medium. Mario Galaxy was a very good purchase because I can play it with Nickie. Only 3 stars away from the end boss if I feel like beating the game. Hellgate: London is fun, but I just forget to play it when I have the time. Jeanne D'Arc is getting harder. I've lost the first time on the last 2 story battles I've fought. It might be time to grind a bit.

It amazing...
How a simple picture of a crudely drawn penis can make everything better. Laughing that hard at something so simple just made everything better in my mind, because I know that whatever happens and whatever I'm going through at the time, you guys can make me happy.
Thanks

I always find it funny...
How relieving some things can be. A long time ago, when I would get really nervous about something, I usually wouldn't do it. Whether it be making a romantic advance on somebody, quiting a job, or something as simple as trying some type of food I've never had before. I started to realize that this is often a pretty stupid move, and I'm sure I missed many opportunities because of it. I used to get this sinking feeling in my stomach and it would just be so uncomfortable that I would freeze up and end up not doing what I wanted to. But as I started to push myself, ignoring that feeling in my stomach, I learned that it's always better to do it. Even if it didn't go how I wanted, I always felt better after. The best part is, every time I'm faced with one of these situations, and I push past it, the next time gets easier. Hopefully someday I can bury the nervous side of me and be the confident guy I am the other 99% of the time.
And by the way, this is how you do it:
I like you *blush*
None of that profanity junk ;)
